Fairchild Tropical
Botanic Garden
Coral Gables, Florida
This 83-acre garden opened to
the public in 1938. It was designed by noted landscape
architect William Lyman Phillips, a member of the Frederick
Law Olmsted firm. The garden’s Palm and Cycad collections
are recognized by the North American Plant Collections
consortium (NAPCC). Other major collections include
tropical fruits and Heliconia.
